Deputy Chief of Drug Supply Department

Dr. Anas is the Deputy Chief of Drug Supply Department at Hamad Medical Corporation. He holds a position at Qatar University as Clinical Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy & Practice. He is leading the Health Technology Assessment and Innovation Regulation National Program in the National Health Strategy 2024- 2030 under the Ministry of Public Health. He is chairing the Standing Committee on Medication Services at Qatar Red Crescent Society. He is the Vice President & Director of ISPOR Qatar Regional Chapter. He is also the Vice President of Hospital Pharmacy Section at the International Pharmaceutical Federation for EMRO Region. He served as Director of Pharmacy at the National Center for Cancer Care & Research for 10 years. Dr. Anas finished his BSc in Pharmacy at the University of Jordan. He obtained MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, International Practice & Policy from the University of London and PhD in Clinical Practice & Medication Use from King's College London. He acquired an Executive Diploma in Health Services Management from GSM London. He completed the Executive Leaders Program with Qatar Leadership Centre. In addition, he attained several postgraduate certificates in health technology assessment, medical technology evaluation, supply chain management, quality management, and research ethics. Dr. Anas is an active researcher with several publications and conference proceedings. He regularly speaks at local and international conferences. He is a member of both HMC’s and QU’s Institutional Review Boards in addition to the MOPH National Clinical Research Review Committee. He is an Editorial Board Member at International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Review Editor at Frontiers in Oncology. He is also a member of the International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners’ Global Oncology Pharmacy Leaders. Moreover, he is a member of various committees/boards focusing on pharmacy practice, medication use, healthcare research, safety & quality, medical affairs, healthcare education, health economics, governmental tenders, clinical transformation, and health insurance.
